Thank you, Pete, for your note of 30 July. I would like my "article" on Tom and his photograph, to go on the nd530 site to be with the information about the rest of the crew. What is the best way to achieve this? Also, can you tell me how to get in touch with Amanda Burrows? As you have probably guessed I am new to this kind of communication. Kind regards.

I am the youngest brother of Sgt. T. A. Fox (Tom or "Freddie") who was killed in March 1944 in Lancaster nd530. I am hoping to add to the website some details about my brother if I can just conquer the problems I am having with my computer. Like Bob Breuls, I am planning a visit to the cemetery at St. Gilles in September this year.

Flt Lt George Joblin DFC. (Pilot) Was killed on the Stuttgart raid on July 29 1944. He was my great Uncle and I meet 2 of his crew, (all survived except George I believe) at George's sister's home (Daisy Eleanor Coles) in the early 90"s. I would like to find out any more information about his life on 630 Sqn and indeed how he won the DFC.

I was a pilot in the sqdn .On my 13th atttempted op on the 13th Jan 1945 I had three spare bods (owing to sickness) .This was very unusual . We were on route to Politz but crossing Denmark we were hit by flak . The starboard inner engine caught fire and we were forced to bail out over a narrow strip of Sweden .
My mid upper gunner Flight Sgt Edwards was killed , the rest of us were interned for two months when we were repatriated . Three of the crew were dominions and as per agreement with the Empire countries they went home . The flight engineer volunteered to stay in Sweden to help service Allied planes which had LANDED in Sweden so I was left with just one crew member F/sgt Gaughan ,my navigator . I tried to get onto Mosquitoes as I had over 1100 hours as 1st pilot but the conflict was nearly over and after some extended leave I finished up as an air traffic controller at Biggin Hill which was then in Transport Command . This was a compassionate posting owing to my darling wife's heart trouble . She subsequently had to have treatment in Guy's Hospital and because we had no-one to look after our young daughter I saw the AOC who allowed me to get "demobbed" before the end of my extended service .
I am very very sad to report that my dear wife died a few weeks ago . We had been married almost sixty six years and she had had two lots of open heart surgery , had two pacemakers, had been in so many hospitals that she joked that she could write a Cook's tour guide to them .I cannot write any more . Sorry.

My great-uncle Maurice Benjamin Henley was a rear air gunner for 630 Squadron and sadly died in 1944 on the return trip after a successful bombing raid in Europe - he is buried, with his colleagues in Stonefall Cemetary, Wetherby - I am searching our Ancestors and all this information bring alive someone I was unable to meet - thank you
